Gigoloogle Chrome, Net Neutrality and Salsa Porn.

3 Sep

In a previous post », I compared YouTube vs. tv. Not too long ago, I learned about a grassroots movement advocating net neutrality, called I Power ». Here’s a clip of theirs:
In a nutshell, they explain that there is a conspiracy among ISPs to revert Internet access to a tv-like subscription model, limiting access to certain websites based on the subscription you have.

The reason I bring this up is not to debate why or how the ISPs will get my money, but to say that I think I was erroneous in my previous comparison of YouTube vs. tv. When I think about my computer screen, my tv screen, and my eyeballs, I come to the realization that my computer has become my tv. My eyeballs are still pwned ».

Whether I pay Rogers or Bell for tv, or pay Rogers or Bell for YouTube, I am still paying Rogers or Bell. Whether YouTube is included in subscription #1 or subscription #2, I would still likely pay for access to YouTube. Why, you ask? Well, for the bachata of course:

Very nice. Oh, and if you were wondering about the salsa porn mentioned in the title of this post, go back to the first clip in this post, from I Power, and watch from about 4:10.
